Why is American politics so divisive? Why does it seem like nothing gets done? Why are Americans so obsessed with their Constitution? If you’re befuddled and puzzled about the nature of American politics, this is the podcast for you. Antonio Peronace, a longtime political insider in Washington D.C. who directed media operations for the Democratic Caucus first in the House of Representatives and then in the Senate, sits down with PJ Thum to answer questions, crowdsourced from the New Naratif membership, about what American politics is really like from the perspective of those who practice it.

About Antonio: Antonio Peronace was the first Creative Director of the Democratic Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives (2009-2013). As Creative Director, Antonio directed House Democratic Leadership video production as well as print and digital media design. In addition, Antonio founded the Democratic Caucus’s first internal recording studio, produced thousands of videos for members of Congress, and helped planned large-scale special events. After several years in the private sector, Antonio returned to the United States Capitol where he worked as Senator Richard Blumenthal’s Digital Director (2015-2017) and was subsequently named the U.S. Senate Democrats’ first Creative Director (2016-2017) where he ran a state-of-the-art television and radio studio. Antonio left his work on Capitol Hill to found his own strategic communications firm and pursue passion projects. Since Jan 2020, Antonio is serving as the Chief of Staff for the Office of Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney located in northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. The office he oversees runs the criminal justice system for the 1.2 million people that live in Fairfax County.
