The Democracy Classroom: Inequality in Singapore event was a long-awaited return to Singapore, where we gathered with Singaporeans to discuss The Citizens' Agenda Singapore 2022. Soaring inflation, a growing rich-poor divide, and declining social mobility have left Singaporeans feeling frustrated and unhappy. In The Citizens’ Agenda 2022 by New Naratif, Singaporeans told us that inequality was one of their greatest concerns. In this democracy classroom, we analysed inequality and discussed what should be done about it.
